29 Nov What’s Cooking With Kimberley – GROUND TURKEY SAUSAGE PATTIES
Welcome back to What’s Cooking With Kimberley where every Friday we put together a simple, yet healthy recipe.
Today’s recipe is a delicious, and nutritious ground turkey sausage patty.
Turkey is high in protein, low in carbs and when well seasoned can elevate a breakfast dish with eggs.
Serves: 3 – 4 people
- 2 lbs of ground Turkey
- 2 teaspoons dried sage
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of Marjoram
- 1 teaspoon of old Bay
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon of ground fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon of garlic, minced finely
- ½ teaspoon of Ginger, minced finely
- 1Tbsp Drizzle Vermont Maple Syrup, for garnish
- 3 eggs, beaten
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Combine all of the seasonings in a small bowl. Sprinkle the seasonings over the ground turkey and mix well.
Form it into patties and fry until no longer pink inside, about 3-5 minutes per side. While the patties are frying add salt and black pepper to the beaten eggs and pour into another pan and scramble, about 3 minutes.
Add finished eggs and patties to a dish and drizzle with Vermont maple syrup.
Ground turkey sausage patties are a great dish to change up your normal weekend breakfast routine. A more nutritious and healthy option to pork based sausages, paired with delicious maple syrup these patties pack a delicious punch. These turkey patties shine with a traditional breakfast spread including pancakes and eggs!
